Founded in 1938 by Martin Goodman, Marvel Entertainment is one of the two largest comic book publishers in the United States. The parent company is domiciled in New York at Fifth Avenue 417. Marvel Entertainment and DC Comics (its eternal rival) are the two biggest American comic book publishers when it comes to bringing Superhero stories to life.
On August 31, 2009, The Walt Disney Company acquired Marvel Entertainment for $4 billion. C.B. Cebulski has been at the helm of the company since Axel Alonso stepped down in 2017. Its takeover by Disney has raised Marvel’s profile in the film world. It should be noted, however, that in 1993, Marvel had already founded its “Marvel Films” company, later renamed “Marvel Studios”.
After the great success of the 2008 film “Iron Man”, Marvel decided to launch a blockbuster dedicated to its characters who had not yet been ceded to other producers. This strategy enabled him to create a cinematic universe of his own. In the world of video games, Spider Man was the first character to be played on the Atari 2600 console in 1982. Various other older consoles also made it possible to play this character, as was the case with : Sega Mega Drive, Sega Saturn, Super Nintendo, Nintendo 64 and the very first PlayStation.
Even today, the Spiderman character remains emblematic on new console generations such as: Nintendo Wii, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series.
