Food refers to all the substances that a living organism needs to survive. Food itself must be healthy if we are to live in optimal health conditions.

The first role of food is to multiply energy intake to enable our cells to develop and renew themselves. Every living thing (including humans, animals and plants) needs a specific supply of nutrients to evolve and grow in its environment.

The need for food is vital for every species on our planet. Plants synthesize their own nutrients through photosynthesis. In the case of animals, they have to find their own food.

As far as our diet is concerned, we need to balance it to maintain good health. These are some of the foods to look out for:

Fruits and vegetables (for increased intake of antioxidants and vitamins A, C and E),
Fish (rich in protein and omega 3),
Dairy products (to enrich calcium, iron and vitamin B intake),
Red meat, poultry and eggs (rich in protein and iron).
Fats (rich in lipids, vitamins A, D and E, and essential fatty acids);
Starchy foods: Bread, pasta, rice, potatoes, cereals, etc. (to maximize carbohydrate intake, but also fiber, minerals, protein and vitamin B).

Edible foods in liquid form are called beverages: this is the case with milk, fruit juices and pure or mineral water. Foodstuffs do not include :

Pet food,
Live animals (except for oysters),
Unripe fruit and vegetables,
Medicines and dietary supplements,
Tobacco and all the industrial products derived from it,
Alcoholic beverages and narcotics.

Don’t know where to start when it comes to convincing your child to eat healthily to maintain their well-being? To achieve this, we advise you to gradually arouse their curiosity by offering them pretty food drawings to color. By distracting him with coloring, you’ll gradually teach him good eating habits.
